Celebration of Hope

Celebration of Hope is our annual luncheon that helps tell Hope Harbour's story. It is a fantastic way to learn more about Hope Harbour's mission and values and learn about ways to get involved in standing up for domestic violence abuse. There will be a guest speaker and a delicious lunch.

Celebration of Hope will be on September 28th, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the St. Luke Ministry Center.

Victor Rivers is this year's keynote speaker.  Rivers is a former football player, best-selling author, and veteran actor who has starred in more than two dozen films, including The Mask of Zorro, The Hulk, Blood In/Blood Out, The Lost City, Distinguished Gentleman, and What’s Cooking?, as well as on multiple TV series, including LIFE, Law & Order LA, CSI Miami, JAG, and Star Trek.  However, given his violent upbringing, few of those accomplishments were likely.

Rivers understands domestic violence as his family experienced it first hand from his father.  At age 12, Rivers visited his local police department to report a lifetime of domestic violence inflicted upon himself, and upon his mother, siblings, and pets. Rivers chronicles his story of survival in his memoir, A Private Family Matter.

Rivers is passionate about ending domestic violence and is the spokesperson for the National Network to End Domestic Violence. Victor continues to advocate for victims of domestic violence, and continues to change lives for the better. We are so excited to have Victor joining us this year! Keep follow
ing us on social media and checking our website for more COH updates to come.
