Hope Harbour shows up in the community, not just at the shelter. Outreach advocates work in schools, churches, hospitals, and partner agencies across the seven-county service area, bringing direct services to people who need them and may not be able to come to us.
Outreach is Hope Harbour outside the shelter walls. It is intentional, sustained presence in the places where victims and survivors are already showing up.

Outreach connections often start through a partner agency (hospital, school, church) but you can also reach an outreach advocate directly through the hotline.

Yes. We actively build partnerships with faith communities, schools, and other community institutions. Contact us to talk about how partnership works: typically training for your staff, a referral protocol so your people know how to warm-hand to us, and ongoing coordination as situations come up.
Hope Harbour has direct working relationships with hospital emergency departments in our service area. When ED staff identify DV in a patient presentation, they can contact our outreach advocates for immediate response.
For people outside our seven-county footprint, we connect you with the DV agency that serves your area.
Home visits are evaluated case-by-case based on safety. Often the safer arrangement is to meet at a neutral community location (a coffee shop, library, partner agency office) so the meeting does not raise suspicion. The outreach advocate works with you on what is safe.
